I spent a beautifully calm and sunny day painting on Sennen Beach in West Penwith, on my annual trip down to Cornwall.

Painting directly onto the canvas on location is becoming my standard practice when appropriate and when conditions allow - it encourages a direct and fresh response to the environment. The breeze blew around quite a lot of sand while I was working, some of which added to the texture of the drying acrylic paint
