I spent a couple of weeks full time painting in Cornwall early in May 2022. The weather was really kind and my efforts resulted in several canvases that reflected the ruggedness of the beautiful north coast of West Penwith.

This canvas was painted on location at Priest Cove, near Cape Cornwall. Although it was overcast for much of the day, the light was glorious and the colours on the sea and in the sky were spectacular. I needed to be aware of how quickly the conditions changed as I built up the layers of acrylic - but I like this as it gives a richness to the overall surface of the canvas.
