Back to my favourite spot at Red Rocks – on the beach at Hoylake. It was overcast with low clouds and a strange greenish tinge to the estuary when I was working on this painting. This light seemed to influence the colours on the beach as well as the water. The receding tide had left the gullies full of water and these created some interesting layers into the far distance.
